Privacy statement

This explains how I handle your data when we have (had) contact. I also tell you about the cookies that may be placed when you visit this website. I start with my own details: so you also know who to contact with questions.

*For this privacy statement, I was inspired by Charlotte's Law - www.charlotteslaw.nl - she is absolutely the expert in the field of online law.

2. Your personal data

3. Why and how I process this data

Why do I process this data? I will explain that below. In any case, I adhere to the rules set by the Dutch Data Protection Authority, in the General Data Protection Regulation and the GDPR Implementation Act.

Contact

If we have contact with each other, or if I am preparing to contact you, I use data from you. I receive this from you (because we have contact, or because you respond to a message), or I look it up in public registers (such as the Chamber of Commerce), or I find it via a public source such as social media.

I process (possibly) this data from you and therefore I list it for you:

A. Trade name
B. First name and last name
C. Registered office or home address
D. CoC number
E. Email address
F. Phone numbers
G. Your username (if we video chat)
H. The name you use on socials
I. A profile picture (if you respond with a profile)
J. Your customer number, the quotation and invoice number
If we have (had) contact, I process your contact details in order to be able to respond to you. I keep this data for 5 years, so that I can read back how previous contact went and what agreements we have made in the past. Based on that, I can serve you better in the here and now.

Quotations

I am legally obliged to be able to show which quotation preceded an agreement. For this I have to keep our administration for 7 years. If you request a quote, I will therefore save your company data and your personal data. That is also useful for my own insight into the ins and outs of my company.

Invoices

In order to send you a concrete invoice, I need information from you such as your email address, your name, trade name, registered office address and other information. After your payment, I can see with which account you paid and in whose name that account is. I also keep invoices for 7 years, according to the rules.

Comments

If you respond to a message on my website, and you do so from a specific profile (Gravatar, Facebook, etc.) then I can sometimes see the profile picture that belongs to that profile. I will leave your comment, in principle indefinitely, unless you ask me to remove the comment. If I have responded to your comment, I may have a legitimate interest in leaving your comment.

Legitimate interest

I always weigh my legitimate interest against your right to privacy, and I adhere to the rules of the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

I process data if I:

  • am legally obliged to do so
  • enter into or have entered into an agreement with you
  • have my own legitimate interest, such as protecting my property, improving my business operations, and conducting marketing.

In all other situations I always ask for permission first.

4. Sharing with third parties

For the proper performance of my work and the proper functioning of my website, I share your data with a number of companies. For example, my mail provider who forwards messages to you via his server, and my telephone provider who forwards my call to you.

I'll give you the whole list:

  • Hosting provider (which facilitates the traffic to and from my website)
  • WordPress (the content management system of my website)
  • My accountant (who sees my invoices and (received) payments)
  • Mail provider (if we email each other)
  • Telephone provider (if we call each other)
  • Payment service (if you order something from me in the webshop)
  • Delivery service (to have mail delivered to you)

5. Your rights

It is your data that I process. You are the owner of your personal data. This means that you can contact me for, and that you are entitled to:

  • Access, rectification or deletion of your personal data
  • Restriction of the processing of your data
  • Object to the processing of your data
  • Withdrawing consent if you have given it previously

If I handle your data in a way that you believe is contrary to the General Data Protection Regulation Implementation Act, you can submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority via https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/

6. Secure data processing

I take appropriate organizational and technical measures to process and store your data securely. I use a level of security that matches the type of data.

7. Cookies on the website

In order for the website to function optimally, cookies are automatically placed. You can read here what a cookie is. Consult your browser's manual to see how you can limit or prevent the placement of cookies.

If you use the website, the following cookies may be placed:

Analytics

To improve my site, so that visitors can find what they are looking for faster, I use Google Analytics. This means that a cookie is placed, which indicates that you are back when you visit the website again. Although Google attaches certain characteristics to such a cookie based on your internet behavior, this data is anonymized. This data is kept for 50 months.

Social Media

To facilitate your interaction with the website (for example, sharing what you read or see here, or responding to a message), I use social media buttons for the website. These place social media cookies with you. For information about the processing of this data, please consult the privacy statements of the social media platforms. It concerns:

  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest
  • Twitter

Youtube / Vimeo

If you watch a video that is 'embedded' (displayed as part of the website), the platform on which that video is located places a cookie. This allows them to keep track of whether you have already viewed the video, suggest other videos to you based on this, and (in the case of YouTube) show relevant advertisements on YouTube or Google. The platforms store this information for 2 years.

Amendments

If there are any changes to this privacy policy, I will publish the amended version on the website. If certain changes only apply directly to you, you will hear directly from me.
