About ritual facilitator Kaj van der Plas

A funeral is sad and sometimes difficult, which is why you want to be assured in advance that everything will be alright. When choosing a ritual facilitator or a funeral speaker, you first look at experience. But the personal connection is at least as important. You will find trust in the combination of expertise and human contact.

Plain language

If you read through my tutorials and homepage, you will get a good impression of how I say things. I speak the way I write. So, plain language, no fancy words or solemn fuss. And in that, I show who I am. I think it is important that you feel seen as you are.

Beautifully formulated

With ordinary spoken language, you can still say things in a beautiful way. And without solemn clichés, you can do justice to a deceased person in a dignified manner. If you want that too, I'd love to help you. However raw the feeling, a funeral may be beautiful.

Pleasant and clear

I often receive compliments for my warm and personal style. People find that I have a pleasant voice and come across clearly. Moreover, I keep an eye on the course of the ceremony and help to make it a beautiful whole. That gives peace of mind, at the moment itself and afterwards. Want to know what I sound like? Religious? Can be, doesn't have to be

In my work as a minister, I have supervised more than 150 funerals in the past 15 years. The story of the deceased is always my guiding principle, and my strength lies in the personal. If it is important to involve religion, I do so in an accessible way. But even without it, it is a farewell with depth.

What also comes in handy when speaking at funerals is my experience as a storyteller. I know how to create a good story and very consciously use my attitude, voice and gestures. For (grand)children I always have a suitable story ready: this way they too are completely seen.

I also write texts for entrepreneurs who want to make the world a little more beautiful for people, and give training courses in presentation with storytelling.
